Can Twitter Work for your Association?

I’ve recently started using Twitter to create online conversations about associations.  I’ve noticed an increase in main stream marketers adopting Twitter to create conversation threads and hype about their press releases, promotions, etc.

Associations may be able to create more search engine optimization by using Twitter.  There is a Twitter add-on site that you can use to monitor conversations about people, associations and companies by using keywords.  Try putting your association name or acronym in the search field at www.summize.com and see if you get any results.

You can also follow other people or organizations and have updates sent directly as text messages to your mobile device.

I use both the web and my Blackberry to update my Twitter page.  So, micro-blogging is here, are you going to check it out?  You can check my Twitter page at www.twitter.com/willisturner.
